Meet the Team: Alaine Harman

Alaine Harman has recently joined the Ebit team as a Business Support Assistant. Alaine works across the entire business, from assisting our team of consultants delivering projects to helping our software and service team upload and maintain client contract records. Alaine is a new but vital member of the team, helping ensure our clients achieve the best outcomes with their procurement projects.

What does your role encompass?

It is a general but very varied business support role. I have been involved with the Consultancy, Contract Management and Virtual Procurement teams already and look forward to seeing more of how the business operates.

What are you enjoying most about working for Ebit?

There’s a fantastic team here and they have a great worth ethic.

How can Ebit help businesses as they prepare for 2023?

Ebit can add value for our clients, and provide very substantial savings both in the short and the longer term. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have vast experience of working with leading companies in many different sectors.

What’s your professional background?

I am an experienced lead fundraiser and former PA with a demonstrated history in both the charity and retail sectors, including supporting executives at Board Level.

What’s your most memorable fundraising experience?

Gosh so many – but probably the most recent one was leading and supporting a mixed group of 30 people to walk in the Sahara Desert and between them they raised almost £70k.

Seeing the group grow and develop from when they first signed up when everything was daunting; the challenge ahead, the fundraising, the physical fitness side , to be completely stripped of your creature comforts, to be in the desert – we all supported each other to ensure that everyone made it to the end.

So so many but most of the highlights for me were around people achieving a goal which they thought was almost impossible, achieving it and raising thousands of pounds at the same time.

I have seen so many lovely people blossom and grow through physical achievements and realising that they can do what they set out to do.

If you were an Olympic athlete, which sport would you compete in?

I would be a marathon runner. I find Paula Radcliffe a total inspiration.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

If at first you don’t succeed try again.

Do you have any pets?

Yes two brown cocker spaniels – Bella who is 11 and Charlie who is 7
