Procurement Roadmap Development - Manufacturer

Working with a blue-chip food manufacturing client we managed indirects as part of the overall procurement team. In addition to savings delivery, we contributed to the procurement roadmap journey, ran team workshops, devised self-help tools, delivered training and supported supplier management.

Client overview

Ebit worked with a Top 10 food processing client to support the internal procurement team. We were appointed to specifically manage indirect spend categories, including IT, Marketing, HR and Professional Services on the client’s behalf.

We devised a risk management programme, contributed to the category management toolkit and also delivered a contract management system.

Our approach

Ebit managed indirect procurement as part of the client’s overall procurement team with our lead sitting on the Procurement Leadership Team.

In addition to savings delivery, we contributed to the procurement roadmap journey, ran team workshops, devised self-help tools, delivered training and supported supplier management.

We placed a team of three people into the food manufacturing client and had full responsibility for multiple indirect spend categories.

Value delivered

We wrote and ran a series of two-day procurement team workshops to facilitate the devising of a procurement two-year roadmap, setting out the standards and operating model for the department.  This strategy framework then led to a programme of strategic ‘pillars’ being adopted across the team to drive best practice such as category management process and tools.

We proactively supported stakeholders beyond contract signature, for example working with HR to solve fleet contract management issues and restructuring the travel management contract to improve process.
