Procurement Function Set-Up: Men's Clothing Retailer
Working with a large men's clothing retailer, we provided procurement resource for four years, delivering multi-million pound savings and driving business improvement. We then worked with the brand to set up and transition over to an in-house function which included developing procurement processes, tools, templates and training the new team.
Client overview
Ebit worked with a large men’s clothing retailer. Initially, the client had no procurement function, having grown rapidly from nothing to become a major international retailer in just over 10 years.
This was a long term engagement to set up a procurement function and to then help the client transition over to an in-house function, which included developing procurement processes, tools, templates and training the new team.
Our approach
Ebit provided procurement resource for 4 years. We placed full-time procurement resource on site, working quickly to understand the business and build stakeholder relationships and give indirects a focus.
Our client decided to start an in-house procurement function and asked Ebit to manage this process, so we worked with them to set up a team and provide coaching. Our relationship then became more strategic, working on more complex areas of procurement where there were experience gaps.
