Case Study

Working with a large men’s clothing retailer, we provided procurement resource for four years, delivering multi-million pound savings and driving business improvement. We then worked with the brand to set up and transition over to an in-house function which included developing procurement processes, tools, templates and training the new team.

Client Overview

Ebit worked with a large men’s clothing retailer. Initially, the client had no procurement function, having grown rapidly from nothing to become a major international retailer in just over 10 years.

This was a long term engagement to set up a procurement function and to then help the client transition over to an in-house function, which included developing procurement processes, tools, templates and training the new team.

Our Approach

Ebit provided procurement resource for 4 years. We placed full-time procurement resource on site, working quickly to understand the business and build stakeholder relationships and give indirects a focus.

Our client decided to start an in-house procurement function and asked Ebit to manage this process, so we worked with them to set up a team and provide coaching. Our relationship then became more strategic, working on more complex areas of procurement where there were experience gaps.

Results

Ebit delivered 60 different projects, driving multi-million pound savings at 6/1 ROI.

We devised a tailored procurement process and training which we rolled out across the business, working closely with the new team to gain stakeholder engagement and establish ways of working.

We ensured the process was simple and fitted the culture of the business.
