Working with a large, blue-chip manufacturer we managed procurement activity across a number of defined indirect spend categories. Our experienced consultants took full responsibility, working proactively across the business to build relationships, run procurement activity, deliver savings and add value.
Client Overview
Ebit worked with a large, blue-chip food manufacturer which had an extensive internal procurement team. The business consisted of 14 offices throughout Europe.
We were engaged to manage a number of defined indirect spend categories on the client’s behalf, including IT, Marketing, HR and Professional Services.
Our Approach
We pride ourselves on adding value in addition to delivering ‘business as usual savings’. We proactively lead initiatives such as reducing tail spend/suppliers, driving up contract compliance, delivering cash improvements and assisting other parts of the business using Ebit’s category knowledge, insight and benchmark data.
Ebit placed a team of three senior consultants into the client and had full responsibility for several defined indirect spend categories.
Results
- Over a two year period Ebit proactively built and ran a pipeline of 68 procurement projects delivering £8.5m savings across a total spend of £78m (11% overall cost reduction), equating to a 9/1 return on investment.
- We worked to bring the teams together and engage in building pan-European contracts from historically fragmented arrangements. Contract flexibility was one key to success here, tailoring solutions to solving barriers and challenges.
