We are regularly involved with facilities management on behalf of our clients, including those in the hospitality, manufacturing, and retail industries. With considerable expertise and strong existing relationships across the industry, we can quickly model a wide range of scenarios and fast-track negotiations to achieve fair-market rates.
Client Overview
Ebit worked with a specialist beverages retailer with both an ecommerce and bricks-and-mortar presence. With over 200 stores across the UK the facilities management was a challenging mix across these sites and additional Distribution Centres.
Our client wanted to review the performance of their incumbent preferred supplier and benchmark this against expected performance before reviewing next steps
Our Approach
Working with the client and existing suppliers, we were able to ascertain performance against the existing SLA’s. Having examined this in detail we were able to work with the client to identify that their preferred supplier was not performing as expected.
In many areas (inc first time fixes, stock held) the main contractor was falling well below agreed levels of performance. The client requested that we look to the market to see what we could achieve with alternate suppliers.
As part of this process it was also identified that one of the smaller existing suppliers was performing well above expectations. We worked with the client and this provider to ascertain their competence and ability to step up to the main contractor role.
Results
By promoting an existing supplier to the expanded role our client was able to reward excellent performance and invest in a relationship that was already proving fruitful. The new main contractor already knew the business and understood the requirements from our client.
The change of supplier also uncovered opportunities to create 9% savings against the existing budget. Over the course of the 3 year contract these savings are expected to exceed £200,000.
With the changeover complete, the new main contractor has been able to pick up the facilities management requirements and continues to deliver high quality services.
